June 4th, 1992

June 23 and June 4, 1992, at Cell 63 featured a unique double flyer that is a stylistic departure from Nathan’s typical flyers, making it more likely to have been designed by Mark Rodgers or Dawn of Unfucked/Function. The flyer was made to be cut in half after being copied, with each half distributed separately to promote two upcoming events.

On June 23, Cell 63 hosted a show with Treacherous JayWalkers, Downcast (Goleta, California), Libido Boyz (Mankato, Minnesota), and Drippy Drawers (Northern California). On June 4, the lineup included Neutral Nation (Rhode Island), Inject, Floodgate (Santa Cruz, California), and Flysex, bringing in punks from outside the San Fernando Valley. The flyer even included directions from Los Angeles, exemplifying the way Cell 63 was drawing crowds from outside the immediate area, further cementing its status as a key hub for the Southern California punk scene.

Neutral Nation, a hardcore punk band hailing from Rhode Island, remains active and continues to perform today. Formed in the mid-1980s, the band made a name for themselves with their fast, aggressive sound. In 1990, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day was photographed wearing a Neutral Nation shirt. Throughout their career, the band shared the stage with a wide variety of influential acts, including Fishbone, Neurosis, and Grotus, and even played alongside The Minutemen and the infamous GG Allin. Their fearless approach to punk rock brought them to many legendary stages. Neutral Nation hit the road extensively, touring throughout the Northeast and Canada as both headliners and as an opening act for major punk and alternative bands such as Bad Brains, The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Descendents, Jane's Addiction, and The Replacements. In 2017,  Neutral Nation was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, a testament to their enduring legacy in both the regional and national punk rock communities.
